My name is Vic Wang, I am currently an Assistant Director with
College and University Partnerships team at University of Maryland University
College (UMUC). I launched my
professional career with UMUC and have been working here for almost 4
years. Our department handles the
community college alliance program we have with various community colleges
around the country.
Over the years, I have accumulated experiences in lead and enrollment management, recruiting and working with both traditional and adult students from community colleges across the US. I currently oversees and manage a team of Education Coordinators who provides student services to our community college prospects and graduates. I am also part of a brand new initiative that UMUC launched called the UMUC Completion Scholarship. My colleagues and I work behind the scene to ensure the new and biggest scholarship program we ever offered to Maryland community college graduates run smoothly.
I completed three majors as an undergraduate business student in Marketing, Management and Global Trade. I earned a BS in Business Administration from High Point University, High Point, NC. After earning my bachelor’s degree, I decided to pursue a Master’s degree immediately, and I earned a MBA from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. I am currently working towards earning a graduate certificate in Policy and Management in Distance Education and E-Learning from UMUC. If everything goes well, and the program is the right fit for my career goal, then I will pursue earning another master’s degree in Distance Education and E-Learning. I will be completing the Distance Education and Policy Management track.
I am from Gaithersburg, MD and currently lives in Delaware. However, I was born and raised in Beijing, China until I was 13. I came over to the US and did not speak a word of English. I do speak mandarin Chinese and can still read a few things here and there. But language is a skill set, where if you don’t practice, you truly do lose it.
